Tea? Yes, tea! (Blog Update #1)

If there is one thing you should know about me, it’s that I am positively OBSESSED with tea. I’m not quite sure how this started. I went most of my life thinking I hated tea if it was warm and not traditional Southern Iced Sweet Tea. Boy, was I wrong!

I debated posting about things other than essential oils/aromatherapy on this blog since the URL and title of the blog have to do with just that! But some changes may be underway. I definitely still want to stick to posting as much as possible about aromatherapy and such, but I also want to expand so that this blog can incorporate my other passion in life– tea! (Okay, I have many other interests, but the only thing relevant or remotely interesting to blog about would be tea…and maybe coffee. But mostly tea. 😀 )

Now, I know that this blog currently has a small following, and most of those came from my essential oils posts. I don’t want anyone to leave! In fact, I am trying to expand and invite more people to come! If you have absolutely no interest in things that aren’t essential oils, there are many things you can do (really, I want everyone to stay!). You can filter tags (I tag EVERYTHING so that it is easily accessible and organized) or simply search by category. WordPress is an awesome blog host because of this!

I have not yet decided if I am going to change the title or URL. I quite like both, but I definitely don’t want it to be misleading. Hmm…something to think on, or drink tea over, eh?

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this is something that is underway. Like I said, I want EVERYONE to stay here and not go anywhere. I also invite newcomers to check this place out!

Sleep Body/Linen Spray

I’m all about sleep on this blog because it’s something that is very important to me since I struggle so much with it. I’ve posted a couple of times already on it. If you’d like to check out my nighttime routine, you can find that here. If you would like to check out diffuser blends for sleep, I’ve posted about that here.

Now, a very important part of my nighttime routine is this spray. I like to run the diffuser as well (not necessarily with all of these scents), but the linen/body spray just helps relax me as I finish my routine. You can adjust this to your preferences (for example, some people hate the scent of Patchouli, but I find it very relaxing it and it’s my go-to sleep scent, but if you don’t like Patchouli and find another scent relaxing for sleep, go for it!). When it comes to recipe like this, nothing is set in stone. You have to find what portions and what scents work for you, but, I am always happy to discuss and share about what works for me to help give you ideas. 🙂

Nighttime Routine

Alright, so it’s been a LONG time since I’ve posted, but I’m back now! First off, I want to wish everyone a very happy (yet belated) New Year! I hope your 2016 is off to a great start!

As my first post for the new year, I thought I would start off with something a tad bit different. While I am still going to incorporate essential oils into this post, it’s not mainly about essential oils. Hopefully that’s okay!

I have mentioned previously that I am an insomniac have been for the greater portion of my life. It can be frustrating as hell, and those of you that suffer with insomnia can surely relate.

While taking melatonin supplements has helped me a lot to get to sleep and stay asleep, I have also found that there is something that helps in addition: having an established nighttime routine that you don’t stray from much. There is plenty of research out there that can confirm that having a routine helps, and much of my routine goes along with other articles I’ve read about how to go about a routine. It’s important to have a routine because it’s gets your mind in “bedtime” mode.
